The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has recently done a survey of more than 100 B2B SaaS companies to identify how they continue to grow in size while persisting innovation and entrepreneurship. Despite the global tech industry facing a tough environment, B2B SaaS companies have shown continued and persistent growth.
BCG has made it their mission to identify the specific moves that these companies have made to continue the growth trajectory.
B2B SaaS (business-to-business software-as-a-service) companies are growing rapidly and are expected to grow even faster in the future, according to a recent analysis by Boston Consulting Group (BCG).
BCG's survey of over 100 B2B SaaS companies (all primarily based in Europe and over 50 % in Germany) found that the segment was growing at ten times the rate of the broader SaaS industry, with revenues increasing by 179% in 2022, and a projection of 204% growth in 2023.
BCG identified specific moves that all B2B SaaS companies can make to continue the growth trajectory, particularly in the realm of go-to-market strategies and commercial operations. They also found that investment in sales and marketing is critical for the growth of a SaaS business, but the right level of investment depends on factors such as the payback period for customer acquisition cost (CAC) and the churn rate at which customers need to be replenished.
